Setting Default App in Windows 10


Steps to set the Default Apps in Windows 10 :

Step 1 :Go to "Settings" tab in Windows 10



 Step 2: Under "Settings" Tab, you got the System Icon option. Click it.


Step 3:  Under Settings -> System -> Default Apps. You can see the option of setting the Default apps for your Windows 10.


Step 4: Clicking the "Choose a default" option for your apps. "Windows store" will be redirected. From there, you are able to access the apps needed for your Windows 10.



Step 5: Click it and get the app from the store.

Setting Background Picture in Windows 10


Let;s move on to the steps of setting the background picture in Windows 10.

Step 1: Goto Settings tab in Windows Startup.



Step 2: Go to "Personalization" under "Settings" tab.


Step 3: Under Personalization -> Goto Background -> You are able see the "Picture" option in Background.



Step 4: Three option you can see, you are able to

              1. Picture
              2. Solid Color
              3. Slideshow.



Step 5: Select the picture which you are choose it from drive.


Step 6: "Choose a fit" The options available are

            1. Fill
            2. Fit
            3. Stretch
            4. Tile
            5. Center
            6. Span

Setting Background Color in Wndows 10


Let me go through the steps of setting the Background Color for the desktop in Windows 10 Operating system.

Step 1:  Goto Setting Tab under Windows Startup.


Step 2: Under settings tab goto "Personalization" tab.


Step 3: Under settings -> Personalization -> you are able see the drop down for Background.



Step 4: Change the option to Solid Color and you are able to choose the Color for your background



Step 5:Selecting the option of your preferred color, you are able to see the color in the preview window. Clicking apply "Button" in the bottom.


Step 6: You are able to see the background color setup for your windows 10.

Get System Information in Windows 10



Let me show you the steps to fetch the System information in Windows 10.

Step 1: Got Settings tab in Windows Startup.


Step 2:  Got "System" icon under settings tab.



Step 3:  Got "About" option under settings and you are able to see the option of"System Info" Now click it.



Step 4: Clicking "System Info" you are able to see the properties of your "My Computer".

Apps and Features options in Windows 10


Most interesting features in Windows 10 is "Apps & Features"

Windows 10 provides me an option of searching installed app in the machine and also uninstall or manage the apps in a user friendly manner.

Step 1: Got Settings option in Windows 10



Step 2: Goto "System" tab under settings in Windows 10.



Step 3:  Under Settings, Let me go to the option of "Apps & Features" option below is the screen you are able to see.




 Step 4: Windows 10 provides an option of searching the application installed. Am searching with the keyword "Silver"



 Step 5: We are able to search the apps installed in specific drive too.



Step 6: Sorting option provides me an option of

                    1. Sort by Size
                    2. Sort by Name
                    3. Sort by install date



Step 7: Once the apps were searched. Option to provide uninstallation is provided.

Rename PC name in Windows 10


Step 1: Goto "Settings" option in Windows 10.



Step 2: Under "Settings" Option, goto System Icon.



Step 3: Under Settings -> System-> Goto About option. -> In the right side, under PC Name -> Rename PC


Step 4: Click "Rename PC" to change the name of the PC.




Step 5: You will given an option of "Showing the existing PC name" and the new PC name to be updated.



Step 6: Once the PC is renamed. You will get an option of "Restart now" or "Restart Later"



Step 7: The PC name is ready to go. After your restart the machine name will change. You can see the option below. Enjoying naming your PC :-)

Setting Default option of storing files in Windows 10


Windows 10 provides one of the fantastic option of storing the files in Default drives.

Let see, how its possible.

Step 1: Goto Setting option in Windows default click flow.




Step 2: Under "System" tray icon.



 Step 3: Under settings, we are able to see the option of "Storage"



Step 4: You can specify the default drive to store the documents, images, videos and other types of files.

Power and Sleep options in Windows 10


Let me go through the steps of finding out the Power and Sleep options in windows 10.

Step 1: Got to "Settings" Option in Windows 10.



Step 2: Goto System Icon in the Setting Tab



 Step 3: Under System -> Goto Power & Sleep you are able to see the option of Screen off timing and sleep timing to be setup



 Step 4: Under monitor switch off, you are able to see the setup timing options.



Step 5: Under Computer sleep timing can be setup.



 Step 6: Am bit eager to know the option of clicking "Additional Power settings" hyperlink.




Step 7: This is most familiar option for the windows users. Hope you know it.

    1. Balanced option is the recommended windows power option setting. You will be provide option to the change the plan setting.
    2. In case, if the windows user prefers the option of saving more power in the battery for their laptop. You can go for Power Saver option. In which, you will be provided with an option of the changing the plan settings.


Adding Hibernate to Power Button:

 1. Click the Option "Choose what the power buttons do".

2. In the dialog box that appears, click "Change settings that are currently unavailable".
3. Enable "Hibernate option"
4. Click "Save Changes" button.

Account Settings - Image Password in Windows 10

We just saw that Picture Password can be added for additional account security for Account Setting in Windows 10

Now we will have a look on how to create picture passwords. Click Add button.


Provide your windows login password.


Choose a picture for creating password.


Select the desired picture.

Click Use This Picture button to confirm selected picture.

Provide 3 gestures for your picture by choosing desired place in the picture.



  
Now after providing confirmation, finish the wizard.

Now as you can see below picture password is added and Add button is replaced with Change and Remove buttons.
